FAQ’s:

What does SPF mean?

The sun protection factor, or SPF, indicates the factor to which the skin’s protection time against UVB rays is extended by using a particular sunscreen.

What is the point of reapplying sunscreen?

It has been proven that reapplying sunscreen twice, for example, does not offer double the SPF protection. To maintain a level of protection, sunscreen should be reapplied after significant sweating, prolonged contact with water, and if the skin is extremely sensitive to the sun.

When and where should sunscreen be used?

Sunscreen should be generously applied to dry skin with plenty of time (approximately 20 minutes) prior to sunbathing in order to achieve effective protection. Make sure that extra-sensitive body parts such as the lips, nose, eye areas, and ears are adequately protected.

What is Photostability?

To protect the skin, sunscreens use UV filters that absorb radiation from the sun. When a sunscreen is exposed to this radiation, it can alter the chemical structure of the UV filters, thus degrading their protective capabilities. A “photostable” sunscreen is able to withstand the effects of UV exposure better, so it keeps its level of protection.
