What is UNIMAZOLE 5mg?

  • It contain Thiamazolum also known as methimazole.

What UNIMAZOLE 5mg is used for?

  • It is a medication used to treat hyperthyroidism. This includes Graves disease, toxic multinodular goiter, and thyrotoxic crisis. It is taken by mouth. Full effects may take a few weeks to occur
  • This medication contains methimazole. Do not take Northyx or Tapazole if you are allergic to methimazole or any ingredients contained in this drug.
  • If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or planning to have baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine

Tell your doctor if you are taking ,

  •    carbamazepine
  •     clozapine
  •     propylthiouracil
  • ake this medicine on schedule as prescribed by your doctor
  • Swallow the tablets whole with at least half glass of water
  • usually is taken three times a day, approximately every 8 hours, with food. Follow the directions on your prescription label carefully, and ask your doctor or pharmacist to explain any part you do not understand.

Common side effects may include:

  • nausea, vomiting, upset stomach;
  • headache, dizziness, drowsiness;
  • numbness or tingly feeling;
  • rash, itching, skin discoloration;
  • muscle or joint pain;
  • hair loss; or.
  • decreased sense of taste.
  • Keep this medicine out of reach of children
  • Do not use this medicine after the expiry date
  • Store at room temperature (15-25ºC)
