What is SOLAY 5MG?

  • SOLAY 5MG contains solifenacin succinate which belongs to the group of medicines called muscarinic antagonist that is used in the treatment of overactive bladder. It relieves urinary symptoms like frequent urination, urgent need to urinate, and inability to control urination.

What SOLAY 5MG is used for?

  • SOLAY 5MG is used to treat the symptoms of a condition called overactive bladder

Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:

  • are allergic to solifenacin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have an inability to pass urine or to empty your bladder completely (urinary retention)
  • have a severe stomach or bowel condition
  • have suffer from the muscle disease called myasthenia gravis
  • suffer from increased pressure in the eyes, with gradual loss of eye sight (glaucoma)
  • are undergoing kidney dialysis
  • have severe liver disease
  • suffer from severe kidney disease or moderate liver disease
  • have some obstruction of the digestive system (constipation)
  • are at risk of your digestive system slowing down (stomach and bowel movements)
  • have a nervous disorder (autonomic neuropathy)
  • You should not use SOLAY 5MG if you are pregnant unless clearly necessary
  • Do not use SOLAY 5MG if you are breast-feeding as solifenacin may get into your breast milk
  • Ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
  • SOLAY 5MG is not to be used in children or adolescents under 18 years

SOLAY 5MG may cause blurred vision and sometimes sleepiness or tiredness. If you suffer from any of these side effects, do not drive or operate machinery

Please tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken or might take other medicines. It is especially important to inform your doctor if you are taking:

  • other anticholinergic medicines such as atropine
  • metoclopramide and cisapride
  • ketoconazole, ritonavir, nelfinavir, itraconazole, verapamil and diltiazem
  • rifampicin, phenytoin and carbamazepine
  • bisphosphonates
  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • You should swallow the whole tablet with some liquid. It can be taken with or without food
  • Do not crush the tablets
  • The usual dose is 5 mg per day, unless your doctor told you to take 10 mg per day

If you take more SOLAY 5MG

  • If you have taken too much SOLAY 5MG, contact your doctor immediately

If you forget to take SOLAY 5MG

  • If you forget to take a dose at the usual time, take it as soon as you remember, unless it is time to take your next dose. Never take more than one dose per day

If you stop taking SOLAY 5MG

  • If you stop taking SOLAY 5MG, your symptoms of overactive bladder may return or worsen. Always consult your doctor, if you are considering stopping the treatment
  • Dryness in mouth
  • Constipation
  • Blurred vision
  • Nausea
  • Upset stomach
  • Urinary tract infection
  • Keep this medicine out of reach of children
  • Do not use SOLAY 5MG after the expiry date
  • Store at room temperature (15-25ºC)

Solay 5 Tablet is an antimuscarinic. It works by relaxing muscles of the urinary bladder to prevent frequent, urgent or uncontrolled urination.
