What is Seczyl tablet?

Seczyl tablet contains Secnidazole 1000 mg which is an antibiotic which is used to treat bacterial infections and works by fighting and stopping the growth of bacteria in the body

It is used to treat:

  • Bacterial infections
  • Bacterial vaginosis in women
  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • It should be taken orally

If you forget to take this medicine:

  • If you forget to take a dose, take it after food as soon as you remember, but if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue as usual
  • Do not use a double dose to make up for a missed dose

If you stop taking this medicine:

  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to do so

Please inform your doctor in case you are taking any medicines including those taken without a prescription

  • Headache, Nausea
  • Vomiting, Diarrhea, Abdominal pain
  • Vaginal itching
  • Bad, Bitter or Metallic taste in your mouth (dysgeusia)

  • Hypersensitivity to secnidazole, Other ingredients of the formulation, Or other Nitroimidazole derivatives
  • If you are pregnant or planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
  • This medicine is not recommended if you are breast feeding or planning to breast feed, because of the potential for serious adverse reactions, including tumorigenicity
  • This medicine is not recommended for children under 18 years of age
  • Keep this medicine out of reach of children
  • Store at a room temperature of 15-25°C
