What is Ropin 0.2% Injection?

  • Ropin 0.2% Injection Ropivacaine is a local anaesthetic drug belonging to the amino amide group.

What is Ropn  Injection used for?

  • Ropn Injection is a local anesthetic used before any surgical procedure or diagnostic procedure. It helps to numb the area and reduces the discomfort associated with the insertion of medical instruments such as needles or catheters.

Talk to your Doctor, if you have:

  •  a known ropivacaine hypersensitivity or amide local anesthetic hypersensitivity. Because amide-type local anesthetics are metabolized by the liver, use ropivacaine, especially repeat doses, cautiously in patients with hepatic disease.
  • heart disease
  • Ask your doctor for advice if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

  • it is not safe to drive or operate heavy machinery while on medication, as you may feel dizzy.

Medicines interact with Ropivacaine are.

  • an antidepressant or antipsychotic medication;
  • anti-nausea medicine such as prochlorperazine (Compazine) or promethazine (Phenergan);
  • blood pressure medicine--carteolol, carvedilol, labetalol, nadolol, propranolol, sotalol, timolol;
  • a blood thinner such as warfarin (Coumadin, Jantoven);
  • ergot medicine--dihydroergotamine, ergotamine, ergonovine, methylergonovine; or
  • an MAO inhibitor--isocarboxazid, linezolid, methylene blue injection, phenelzine, rasagiline, selegiline, tranylcypromine, and others.
  • It will given to you by doctor or nurse under supervision
  • It may  be given into a vein, either as an injection or (following dilution) as an infusion (drip)
  • Hypotension (low blood pressure)
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Slow heart rate
  • Fever
  • Anemia (low number of red blood cells)
  • Paresthesia (tingling or pricking sensation)
  • Headache
  • Itching
  • Back pain
  • Keep this medicine out of reach of children.
  • Do not use this medicine after expiry
  • Store in original package to protect from light
  • keep at room temperature (15-25°C)
