What is RIVAROX 15mg?

  • RIVAROX 15mg contains Rivaroxaban which belongs to the group of medicines called oral anticoagulants. That means they are used to treat the blood clot.

What RIVAROX 15mg is used for?

It is used to:

  • prevent stroke in people with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation
  • prevent and treat blood clots in your blood vessels. These blood clots often form in certain veins in your legs and are called deep vein thromboses (DVT). These clots can travel to the lungs, causing pulmonary embolisms.
  • prevent DVT after hip or knee replacement surgery
  • reduce the risk of major heart problems such as heart attack or stroke in people with chronic coronary artery disease (CAD) or peripheral artery disease (PAD)

Talk to your doctor before taking RIVAROX 15mg, if you:

  • are allergic to rivaroxaban or any of the ingredients
  • have or ever had certain types of abnormal bleeding
  • have liver or kidney problems
  • If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine.
  • Only given to the children after doctor recommendation.
  • It is unlikely to cause any effects on drivers and machine users. consult your doctor for any inconveneince.

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • aspirin or aspirin containing products
  • non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)
  • clopidogrel
  • medicines used for depression
  • medicines used to prevent or treat blood clots such as heparin, warfarin
  • Anti fungal drugs (ketoconazole, itraconazole)
  • HIV drugs (atazanavir, darunavir, ritonavir, tipranavir)
  • Tuberculosis drugs ( rifampin, rifabutin, rifapentine)
  • Always follow the instruction as directed by doctor or pharmacist.
  • Take with whole glass of water
  • Take this medication by mouth after meal.

Severe bleeding. Symptoms can include:

  • unexpected bleeding or bleeding that lasts a long time, such as frequent nosebleeds, unusual bleeding from your gums, menstrual bleeding that’s heavier than normal, or other vaginal bleeding
  • bleeding that’s severe or that you can’t control
  • red- pink- or brown-colored urine
  • bright red or black stools that look like tar
  • coughing up blood or blood clots
  • vomiting blood or vomit that looks like coffee grounds
  • pain, swelling, or new drainage at wound sites
  • back pain, tingling, numbness, muscle weakness (especially in your legs and feet)
  • loss of control of the bowels or bladder (incontinence)
  • Fainting
  • pain in the arms or legs
  • wound secretion
  • Burning feeling while urinating
  • difficult or painful urination
  • keep this medicine out of reach of children.
  • Donot use this medicine after expiry
  • Store in original package to protect from light
  • keep at room temperature (15-25°C)
