What is RENOLOG?

  • RENOLOG contains Alpha Ketoanalogue
  • Alpha Ketoanalogue contains all amino acids essential for uremic patients

What RENOLOG is used for?

It is used in the treatment of

  • Diabetic nephropathy
  • chronic kidney disease in stage I, II, III

Tell your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:

  • are allergic to alpha Ketoanalogue or any other ingredients taking this medicine
  • suffer from hypercalcemia
  • suffer from hereditary phenylketonuria
  • If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine

Tell your doctor if you are taking

  • calcium containing medicines
  • certain antibiotics such as tetracyclines, quinolines
  • drugs containing iron, fluoride or estramustine
  • antacid such as aluminium hydroxide
  • Swallow the tablet whole with a glass of water
  • Take 4 to 8 tablets three times a day during meals
  • This dosage applies to adults (70 kg body weight - 1 Tab/5 BW/day)
  • Tablets are given if the glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is below 25 ml/min and a diet with an intake of max. 40 g protein per day (for adults) is followed

If you take more RENOLOG

  • If you take more RENOLOG than you should contact your doctor immediately

If you forget to take RENOLOG

  • If you forget to take RENOLOG than you should take it as soon as possible and do not take double the dose

If you stop taking RENOLOG

  • If you stop taking RENOLOG do not stop taking without your doctor’s advice
