What is PRODOXIME CV Dry Syrup?

  • PRODOXIME CV dry syrup contains Cefpodoxime Proxetil and Potassium Clavulanate which belongs to the group of medicine called Cephalosporin and Beta lactamase inhibitor respectively. That means they help treat the bacterial infections.

What PRODOXIME CV Dry Syrup used for?

It is used to treat:

  • Pharyngitis / Tonsilitis
  • Acute Community Acquired Pneumonia
  • Acute bacterial exacerbations of chronic bronchitis
  • Uncomplicated gonorrhea (men and women) and rectal gonococcal infections
  • Skin and skin structure infection
  • Acute maxillary sinusitis
  • Uncomplicated urinary tract infection

Before taking PRODOXIME CV, tell your doctor or pharmacist:

  •  if you are allergic to it; or to penicillins or other cephalosporin antibiotics (e.g., cephalexin); or if you have any other allergies.
  • your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, stomach/intestinal disease (e.g., colitis).
  • This medication may cause live bacterial vaccines (such as typhoid vaccine) to not work as well
  • During pregnancy, this medication should be used only when clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
  • This drug passes into breast milk and could have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
  • Safety and efficacy in infants less than 2 months of age have not been established.
  • it is not likely to affect on the driver or machine user. talk to your doctor for inconvenience.
  • argatroban,heparin,warfarin, fondaparinux,lepirudin (used as anti coagulant)
  • BCG vaccine live, cholera vaccine
  • bivalirudin ( used in prevention of thrombosis)
  • dalteparin, enoxaparin ( used in deep vein thrombosis)
  • Shake the bottle to disperse the dry powder
  • Add the SWFI provided up to the mark and shake to dissolve
  • Add additional amount of water to the mark and make final suspension
  • Pour the dose instructed in the cap to consume
  • Consume after meal
  • nervousness
  • numbness or tingly feeling, warmth or redness under the skin
  • pale or yellowed skin
  • rapid weight gain
  • rash
  • seizures (convulsions)
  • skin rash
  • sore throat
  • spinning sensation (vertigo)
  • stiff or tight muscles

  • bloating
  • body aches
  • chest tightness
  • chills
  • confusion or weakness
  • wheezing
  • white patches or sores inside your mouth or on your lips
  • yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice)
  • trouble breething
  • keep this medicine out of reach of children.
  • Donot use this medicine after expiry
  • Store in original package to protect from light
  • keep at room temperature (15-25°C)
