What is Paraflam?

  • Paraflam contains Ibuprofen and Paracetamol which belongs to a group of medicines known as non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs

What PARAFLAM is used for?

It is used in the management of mild to moderate pain and inflammation in conditions such as:

  • headache, fever, operative pain, dental pain, musculoskeletal and joint disorders
  • peri-articular disorders and soft tissue disorders (sprains and strains)

Talk to your Doctor, if you:

  • are allergic to any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have severe liver, kidney or heart problems
  • have or have ever had a stomach ulcer, perforation or bleeding
  • have diabetes
  • have high cholesterol
  • have a family history of heart disease or stroke
  • are a smoker
  • This medicine should be avoided in the first six months of pregnancy and contraindicated in the last three months of pregnancy
  • If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine

It can be used to childern as per advice of doctor

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • metoclopramide or domperidone (to prevent motion sickness)
  • cholestyramine (to treat high cholesterol levels)
  • anti-coagulants (prevent clotting)
  • medicines that reduce high blood pressure
  • corticosteroids
  • medicines used to treat heart problem
  • medicines used to treat mental disorders
  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • Swallow the medicine with water
  • Do not crush or chew the medicine

If you take more paraflam

  • If you take more of this medicine than you should contact your doctor or go to nearest hospital immediately
  • Symptoms of an overdose: nausea, loss of appetite, stomach pain or vomiting (may be blood streaked), headache, ringing in the ears, confusion and shaky eye movement

If you forget to take paraflam

  • Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose
  • If you forget to take a dose take it as soon as you remember it and then take the next dose at the right time

If you stop taking paraflam

  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless told by your doctor
  • skin rash
  • changes in numbers and types of blood cells
  • severe abdominal pain, vomiting blood (or liquid with what looks like coffee grounds), blood in the faeces (stools/motions) or passing black tarry stools
  • stiff neck, headache, feeling or being sick, fever or feeling disorientated
  • fainting, faster heart rate, swelling of the face, tongue and throat
  • worsening of asthma and wheezing or difficulty breathing
  • hives and itching
  • abdominal pain, indigestion, heartburn and nausea
  • headache
  • increased liver enzyme
  • diarrhoea, flatulence, constipation  
  • narrowing of the airways in predisposed patients (analgesic asthma)
  • nervousness, visual disturbance, ringing in the ears and dizziness
  • yellowing of the skin or the whites of the eyes
  • swelling of the ankles
  • Keep this medicine out of reach of children
  • Store at a room temperature of 15-25°C
