What is OVRAL G?

  • OVRAL G contains Ethinyl estradiol and Norgestrel

What OVRAL G is used for?

  •  It is a birth control pill (oral contraceptive) used to prevent pregnancy

Talk to your doctor if you:

  • are allergic to any other ingredients of this medicine
  • had any blood clots  
  • have or had heart problem
  • have high blood pressure  
  • have diabetes  
  • have certain kinds of severe migraine headaches
  • have liver problems
  • have any unexplained vaginal bleeding
  • have or had breast cancer or any cancer that is sensitive to female hormones
  • are a smoker
  • are over 35 years of age
  • had yellowing of your skin or eyes (jaundice) caused by pregnancy (cholestasis of pregnancy)
  • have or had depression
  •  If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine

Tell your doctor if you are taking:

  • ombitasvir/paritaprevir/ritonavir, with or without dasabuvir (to treat hepatitis C)
  • barbiturates, phenytoin, primidone, carbamazepine, oxcarbazepine, topiramate and felbamate
  • rifampicin, rifabutin
  • griseofulvin, fluconazole, itraconazole, ketoconazole and voriconazole (used to treat fungal infections)
  • clarithromycin and erythromycin
  • cyclosporine, prednisolone, theophylline, tizanidine
  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  •  For oral use only

If you take more  OVRAL G

  •  If you take more of this medicine, talk to your doctor or go to your nearest hospital immediately

If you forget to take  OVRAL G

  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember it, take the next dose at your regular time

If you stop taking OVRAL G

  •  Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells to do so
  • blood clot
  • leg pain  
  • sudden severe shortness of breath
  • change in vision or blindness
  • chest pain
  • severe headache unlike your usual headaches
  • weakness or numbness in your arm or leg
  • trouble speaking
  • liver problems
  • jaundice (cholestasis)
  • high blood pressure
  • gallbladder problems
  • changes in the sugar and fat (cholesterol and triglycerides )
  • depression
  • swelling of your skin especially around your mouth, eyes
  • difficulty swallowing or breathing
  • unscheduled bleeding and spotting
  • nausea
  • weight increase or decrease
  • cervical erosion
  • acne
  • menstrual cramps
  • vaginal discharge
  • stomach pain, discomfort, and gas
  • increase in appetite
  • nervousness
  • dark areas on your face
  • fatigue
  • worsening of varicose veins
