What is OCUPOL DX?

  • OCUPOL DX contains Polymyxin-B sulfate, Chloramphenicol and Dexamethasone

What OCUPOL DX is used for?

It is used to treat:

  • surface ocular infections involving the conjunctiva and/or cornea
  • steroid-responsive inflammatory ocular conditions
  • chronic anterior uveitis and corneal injury from chemical, radiation or thermal burns, or penetration of foreign bodies

Talk to your doctor if you:

  • are allergic to any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have epithelial herpes keratitis (dendritic keratitis)
  • have any viral disease
  • have mycobacterial infections of the eye
  • have fungal diseases of ocular structure
  • This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before using this medicine
  • Consult your doctor for advice before using this medicine to your children

[DRIVINGMACHINES]

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • atropine (anti-cholinergic)
  • corticosteroid therapy
  • phenytoin, phenobarbitone (used to treat epilepsy)
  • rifampicin (used to treat infection)
  • salicylates
  • Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • For ophthalmic use only

If you use more OCUPOL DX  

  • If you use more of this medicine, contact your doctor or go to a nearest hospital immediately

If you forget to use OCUPOL DX

  •  If you forget a dose, use it as soon as you remember it, however if it is nearly time for the next dose skip the missed dose
  • Do not use a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose

If you stop using OCUPOL DX

  • Do not stop using this medicine without advice from your doctor

  • blurred vision
  • sensitivity to light

  • Keep this medicine out of reach of children
