What is Nitrosol Spray?

Nitrosol spray contains nitroglycerin which is a nitrate that dilates (widens) blood vessels, making it easier for blood to flow through them and easier for the heart to pump, used to treat or prevent attacks of chest pain (angina).

What is Nitrosol Spray used for?

  • For the treatment and prophylaxis of angina pectoris and the treatment of variant angina

  • are allergic to nitroglycerin or any of the ingredients in this medicine
  • taking the over counter products (e.g. vitamins, herbal supplements, etc.)
  • It is not known if NITROSOL may harm your unborn baby
  • It is not known if NITROSOL pass into your milk and if they can harm your baby
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding or plan to become pregnant ask advice to your doctor before taking this medicine
  • Consult with doctor before using this spray in children.
  • Do not drive or operate machines

Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take such as:

  • Antipsychotics
  • Aspirin
  • NSAIDs
  • Nitric oxide donor medicines
  • Sildenafil
  • Tadalafil
  • Tricyclic antidepressants
  • Vardenafi
  • At the onset of an attack, one or two metered sprays should be administered on or under the tongue.
  • A spray may be repeated approximately every 5 minutes as needed.
  • No more than 3 metered sprays are recommended within a 15 minute period.
  • If chest pain persists after a total of 3 sprays, prompt medical attention is recommended.
  • Nitrosol may be used prophylactically 5 to 10 minutes before engaging in activities that might precipitate an acute attack.
  • mild burning or tingling with the tablet in the mouth,
  • warmth,
  • redness, or
  • tingly feeling under the skin, or
  • feeling weak or dizzy
  • Keep this medicine out of reach of children
  • Do not use this medicine after the expiry date
  • Store at room temperature (15-25ºC)
