What is Meronem 1g Injection?

Meronem 1g Injection contains meropenem is an antibiotic that is used to treat severe infections of the skin, lungs, stomach, urinary tract, blood, and brain (eg. meningitis).

What is Meronem 1g Injection used for?

  • Severe bacterial infections

 

Talk to your Doctor if you

  • are allergic to MERONEM 1GM or any other ingredients of this medicine
  • have brain disorders (such as seizures, head injury, tumor),
  • have stomach/intestinal diseases (such as colitis)
  • have liver or kidney disease
  • Consult your doctor if you are pregnant, think you are pregnant or planning a baby.
  • This medicine passes in human milk in low amount; thus, it is advised not to take this medicine when you are breastfeeding.
  • Children from 3 months to 11 years of age and up to 50 kg body weight
  • It is not known whether Meronem 1g Injection alters the ability to drive. Do not drive if you experience any symptoms that affect your ability to concentrate and react.

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • valproic acid and related drugs (such as divalproex sodium, sodium valproate).
  • This medicine should always be administered by a physician or a nurse into the vein (intravenously) or muscle (intramuscularly).
  • Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy depending upon your age, weight and disease condition.
  • Your doctor or nurse will give you MERONEM 1GM, so it is unlikely that you will receive too much. If you think you have been given too much, tell your doctor or nurse 
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Headache
  • Rash
  • Diarrhea
  • Anemia (low number of red blood cells)
  • Constipation
  • Keep this medicine out of reach of children
  • Do not use this medicine after the expiry date
  • Store at room temperature (15-25ºC)
