What is INFEXIM 400MG Tablet?

  • INFEXIM  400MG Tablet contain cefexime, is an antibiotic medication which is belong to the group of medicine is known as a cephalosporin antibiotic.

What  INFEXIM 400MG Tablet is used for?

  • INFEXIM  is used to treat certain infections caused by bacteria such as bronchitis (infection of the airway tubes leading to the lungs); gonorrhea (a sexually transmitted disease); and infections of the ears, throat, tonsils, and urinary tract

Talk to your doctor before taking medicine, if you:

  • are allergic to INFEXIM or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have severe allergic reaction to any other type of antibiotics (penicillins, monobactams and carbapenems)
  • have vomiting or severe diarrhoea
  • have mild to moderate hearing loss
  • have fungal infections
  • If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine

Tell your doctor before taking this medicine, if you are have

  • colitis.
  • renal dysfunction.
  • nitroprusside tests.
  • liver disease.
  • seizure disorders.
  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • Take INFEXIM  after food
  • Swallow the tablet whole with some water
  • Do not chew, crush or split the tablet
  • The dose and the course of treatment depends on the severity and type of infection

If you take more

  • Contact your doctor or your nearest hospital immediately

If you forget to take

  • Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. Just take your next dose at the usual time

If you stop taking

  • It is important that you take the full course of INFEXIM
  • Do not stop unless your doctor advises you to

Common side effects may include:

  • indigestion, stomach pain;
  • nausea, vomiting; or.
  • vaginal itching or discharge.
  • Cefixime is a broad-spectrum antibiotic, which means that it is active against a wide variety of bacteria. It is used to treat short-term (acute) bacterial infections such as urinary tract infections, chest and throat infections, and ear infections
  • Keep this medicine out of reach of children
  • Do not use this medicine after the expiry date
  • Store at room temperature (15-25°C)
