What is HUMAN ALBUMIN?

  • HUMAN ALBUMIN contains Human Albumin which is a type of protein
  • Human albumin is a normal constituent of human blood

What HUMAN ALBUMIN is used for?

HUMAN ALBUMIN is used,

  • as blood substitutes and plasma protein fractions
  • to restore and maintain circulating blood volume when there is deficiency in volume

Talk to your doctor before using this medicine, if you:

  • are allergic to human albumin preparations or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • are at special risk from increased blood volume e.g. in case of severe heart disorders, high blood pressure, dilated veins of the oesophagus, fluid in the lung, bleeding disorders, severely lowered red blood cell count or without urine output
  • Human albumin is a normal constituent of human blood. No harmful effects are known when this product is used during pregnancy or breast-feeding
  • Particular care should be taken to adjust blood volume in pregnant women
  • Ask your doctor for advice before taking any medicine

  • There is no evidence that HUMAN ALBUMIN impairs the ability to drive or to operate machines
  • Tell your doctor if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines including medicines obtained without prescription
  • This medicine will be given to you by your doctor or nurse
  • HUMAN ALBUMIN is ready for use as an infusion (drip) into a vein. The dosage and infusion rate (how quickly you are given HUMAN ALBUMIN into a vein) will depend on your particular condition
  • Vomiting
  • Flushing (sense of warmth in the face, ears, neck and trunk)
  • Fever
  • Nausea
  • Chills
  • Hives
  • Slow heart rate

HUMAN ALBUMIN 20% INFUSION contains human albumin, a natural protein in blood. It works by replacing the blood or body fluids lost due to excessive bleeding, surgery, or kidney dialysis.

  • Keep this medicine out of reach of children
  • Do not use this medicine after expiry date
  • Store at room temperature (15-25°C)
  • Store in the original package in order to protect from light
