What is FUSID CREAM?

  • FUSID contain Fusidic Acid, which belongs to a group of antibiotic medicines.

What FUSID CREAM is used for?

It is used for local treatment of skin infections such as,

  • impetigo (a weeping, crusty and swollen patch of skin)
  • folliculitis (inflammation of one or more hair follicles)
  • sycosis barbae (infection of the bearded skin)
  • paronychia (infection of the tissue surrounding a fingernail or toenail)
  • erythrasma (infection with brown, scaly skin patches, especially in the folds of the body)

Talk to your Doctor, if you:

  • are allergic to any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
  • Ask your doctor before applying the medicine to children
  • FUSID CREAM doesn’t have any effect while driving or using machines
  • Tell your healthcare provider if you are using any other topical preparations such as cream, ointment, gel
  • Always use FUSID exactly as your doctor has told you
  • For external use only

Use in adults and children

  • Usually a small amount of FUSID is applied to the infected skin three or four times each day. If your doctor advises you to use a sterile bandage or dressing, you can reduce the number of applications
  • If you think that the effect of this medicine is too strong or weak, ask your doctor for advice

If you use more FUSID

  • If you apply too much or accidentally swallow the medicine, it is unlikely to cause any harm. However, if you notice any effect or are worried, contact your doctor

If you forget to use FUSID

  • If you forget to use FUSID, apply the usual amount of this medicine as soon as you remember. Do not apply a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose

If you stop using FUSID

  • Always use this medicine for duration directed by your doctor. Speak to your doctor if unsure. If you stop using this medicine prematurely, it is possible that the skin infection returns or does not cure

  • Keep out of reach of children
  • Store at room temperature (15-25ºC)
  • Do not use this medicine after the expiry date

FUSID Cream is an antibiotic. It works against bacteria that cause skin infections by preventing the synthesis of essential proteins necessary for survival of bacteria. Thus, it prevents the skin infection from spreading.
