What is FORECOX Tablet?

  • FORECOX Tablet is a combination medicine (Rifampicin + Isoniazid + Ethambutol+Pyrazinamide) used in the treatment of tuberculosis. It prevents the growth of the microorganisms that cause the infection.

What FORECOX Tablet is used for?

It is used in the 

  • Treatment of Tuberculosis (TB)
  • Forecox tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Forecox tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
  • Kidney function tests are advisable before the start of this medicine.
  • Forecox tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Forecox tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
  • Forecox tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy. Although there are limited studies in humans, animal studies have shown harmful effects on the developing baby. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you. Please consult your doctor.
  • Forecox tablet is safe to use during breastfeeding. Human studies suggest that the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in a significant amount and is not harmful to the baby.
  • For children this dose is not suitable dose adjustment will be done by doctors.
  • Akt-4 kit tblet may affect your ability to drive as it produces drowiness and sleep. So, it should not be taken before driving a motor vehicle
  • Acetaminophen, carbamazepine, disulfiram
  • MAO inhibitors (isocarboxazid, linezolid, methylene blue, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, rasagiline, safinamide, selegiline, tranylcypromine)
  • SSRI antidepressants (such as fluoxetine, sertraline)
  • Valproic acid.
  • antacids 
  • anticholinergics
  • opioids and ketoconazole.
  • Always follow the instruction as directed by doctor or pharmacist.
  • Take with whole glass of water
  • Take this medication by mouth before 1 or 2 hours of meals.
  • numbness, tingling, or burning pain in your hands or feet;
  • vision problems, pain behind your eyes;
  • wheezing, trouble breathing; or
  • severe stomach pain, diarrhea that is watery or bloody.
  • increased thirst of urination.
  • bloody urine
  • numbness or tingling;
  • red discoloration of your teeth, sweat, urine, saliva, and tears;
  • nausea, vomiting, stomach pain;
  • mild rash or itching; or
  • joint or muscle pain.
  • easy bruising or bleeding,
  • signs of a new infection (such as fever, persistent sore throat),
  • mental/mood changes (such as confusion, psychosis), or
  • seizures.

Tell your doctor right away if any of these rare but serious side effects occur:

  • signs of kidney problems (such as change in the amount of urine, bloody urine)
  • increased thirst/urination
  • vision changes
  • easy bruising/bleeding
  • mental/mood changes (such as confusion, psychosis)
  • seizures.
  • May rarely cause a severe intestinal condition due to a bacteria called C. difficile. This condition may occur during treatment or weeks to months after treatment has stopped
  • keep this medicine out of reach of children.
  • Donot use this medicine after expiry
  • Store in original package to protect from light
  • keep at room temperature (15-25°C)
