What is FEBUSTAT 80MG?

  • FEBUSTAT 80MG contains febuxostat

What FEBUSTAT 80MG is used for?

  • FEBUSTAT 80MG used to treat gout, which is associated with an excess of a chemical called uric acid (urate) in the body

Talk to your doctor before taking FEBUSTAT 80MG, if you:

  • have heart problems
  • have liver disease or liver function test abnormalities
  • are being treated for high uric acid levels because of Lesch-Nyhan syndrome (a rare inherited condition in which there is too much uric acid in the blood)
  • have thyroid problem
  • have kidney problem
  • FEBUSTAT 80MG should not be used during pregnancy
  • You should not use FEBUSTAT 80MG if you are breast feeding, or if you are planning to breastfeed
  • Consult your doctor for advice
  • Do not give this medicine to children under the age of 18 because the safety and efficacy have not been established
  • You may experience dizziness, sleepiness, blurred vision and numbness or tingling sensation during treatment
  • Do not drive or operate machines if affected

Tell your doctor if you are taking medicines such as:

  • mercaptopurine (used to treat cancer)
  • azathioprine (used to reduce immune response)
  • theophylline (used to treat asthma)
  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • The usual dose is one tablet daily
  • It should be taken by mouth and can be taken with or without food

If you take more FEBUSTAT 80MG

  • If you have taken more FEBUSTAT 80MG, contact your doctor or go to nearest hospital immediately

If you forget to take FEBUSTAT 80MG

  • If you forget to take FEBUSTAT 80MG, take it as soon as you remember 
  • If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose
  • Do not take two doses at the same time

If you stop taking FEBUSTAT 80MG

  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to stop your treatment
  • abnormal liver test results
  • diarrhoea, headache, rash, nausea
  • increase in gout symptoms
  • localized swelling due to retention of fluids in tissues (oedema)
  • FEBUSTAT 80MG Tablet is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor. It works by decreasing blood uric acid, which is the chemical that causes gout.
  • Keep this medicine out of reach of children
  • Do not use this medicine after the expiry date
  • Store at room temperature (15-25ºC)
