What is EOFIL 150MG?

  • EOFIL 150MG contains Diethylcarbamazine which belongs to a group of medicines called anthelmintic

What EOFIL 150MG is used for?

It is used:

  • to treat lymphatic filariasis (elephantiasis - severely debilitating and disfiguring disease in which swelling of legs, arms, female breast or male genitals)

Talk to your Doctor, if you:

  • are allergic to any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have previously had river blindness (onchocerciasis) involving your eyes
  • have a history of epilepsy 
  • are elderly
  • have heart or kidney problems
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
  • Ask your doctor for advice before giving this medicine to your child
  • Do not drive or use any tools or machines while taking this medicine as it may cause drowsiness

Tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • This medicine should preferably be taken after meals

If you take more EOFIL 150MG

  • If you take too many of this medicine than the prescribed dose, contact your doctor or go to nearest hospital
  • Symptoms of overdose: nausea, vomiting, headache, vertigo (feeling dizzy), drowsiness, and, in rare but serious cases fits

If you forget to take EOFIL 150MG

  • If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. But if your next dose is due within 4 hours, skip the dose you missed and take the next one at the usual time. Then continue your treatment as before
  • Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose

If you stop taking EOFIL 150MG

  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells to do so

[SERIOUS]

  • nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhoea, loss of appetite, muscle, joint and chest pain, dizziness, drowsiness, fatigue and headache
  • eye worm (loaisis), river blindness (onchocerciasis)
  • diarrhoea, fever, chills, weakness, cough, blood in the urine, irritation and swelling in and around the testicles
  • swelling or painful lumps developing under the skin in the scrotum, difficulty in breathing, itchiness, rash, failure of the circulation and low blood pressure upon standing
