What is DROTIN 40MG?

  • DROTIN 40MG contains Drotaverine which belongs to a group of medicines called antispasmodics

What DROTIN 40MG is used for?

It is used in,

  • gall stone disease, cholecystitis (gall bladder infection)
  • nephrolithiasis, ureterolithiasis, pyelitis and cystitis, spasms of the urinary bladder
  • gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastritis, enteritis, colitis, irritable bowel syndrome, spastic colitis with constipation
  • tension type headache
  • dysmenorrhea (painful periods) and relief of severe spastic pain

Talk to your Doctor, if you:

  • are allergic or hypersensitive to Drotaverine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have severe liver, kidney, heart diseases
  • have cardiac rhythm disorders
  • If you are pregnant or breast feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
  • DROTIN 40MG is not recommended to children under 1 year of age
  • If you feel dizziness, vertigo resulting from hypotension, you should avoid driving or use machines

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • levodopa (used to treat parkinson’s disease)
  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you

If you take more DROTIN 40MG

  • If you have taken a higher than the necessary dose, tell your doctor or go to a nearest hospital immediately 
  • Symptoms of overdosage are decrease of blood pressure, cardiac rhythm disturbances, collapse or respiratory depression

If you forget to take DROTIN 40MG

  • If you miss a dose, take the next dose at the right time, don’t take a double dose to make up for a missed dose

 If you stop taking DROTIN 40MG

  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to do so

  • skin allergic reactions (rash, itching)
