What is DALACIN C 300MG?

  • DALACIN C 300MG contains Clindamycin which belongs to a group of medicines called antibiotics

What DALACIN C 300MG is used for?

  • It is used to kill certain serious bacterial infections

Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:

  • are allergic (hypersensitive) to DALACIN C 300MG or lincomycin or any of the other ingredients
  • have meningitis
  • have colitis severe stomach cramps, diarrhoea
  • have ever had problems with your stomach bowels
  • have any allergies such as hay fever, asthma or eczema
  • have problems with your kidneys, liver
  • have an operation
  • If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or planning to have baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
  • The dose for children is based on their body weight
  • DALACIN C 300MG may make you feel dizzy, feel like everything around you are spinning, or feel disorientated (vertigo). If this happens, do not drive or use any tools or machines

Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, such as:

  • erythromycin, an antibiotic used to treat infections
  • muscle relaxants
  • warfarin or similar medicines – used as blood thinners
  • DALACIN C 300MG is administered by a doctor or nurse

Adults and Elderly:

  • The usual dose is 600-1200 mg clindamycin per day. This will be given in 2,3,4equal doses over a 24-hour period
  • If you have serious infection your doctor will increase our dose to a maximum of 2700mg per day. This will be given 2,3,4 equal doses over a 24-hour period

 Children (over 1 month old)

  • The dose for children is based on your child’s body weight
  • The doctor will decide how much to give to Your child
  • The usual dose is 15-25 mg per kg of body weight. This will be given in 3-4 equal dose over 24hour period
  • If your child has a very severe infection your doctor may increase the dose to at least 300mg. The dose is not related to the weight of your child. This will be given in 3 or 4 equal over a 24 – hour period
  • red and lumpy skin rash
  • difficulty breathing
  • swelling of face, mouth, lips or eyelids
  • unexplained high temperature (fever)
  • feeling faint
  • diarrhea
  • severe stomach and abdominal cramps
  • blood in the feces
  • heart attack if your injection is given too quickly
  • nausea
  • vomiting
  • itchy or sore vagina, discharge from the vagina
  • skin rash or itching or blistering of the skin
  • jaundice
  • low blood pressure
  • effects which may occur at the site of infection:
  • itching
  • pain
  • abscess
  • swollen and painful veins

  • Protect from excess heat and light
  • Keep out of reach of children
  • Store at room temperature (15-25ºC)
  • Do not use this medicine after the expiry date
