What is CREMALAX 10MG?

Introduction:

Cremalax Tablet contains Sodium picosulphate which belongs to a class of medicines called laxatives. It is used to provide relief from constipation (a condition in which there is difficulty in emptying the bowels, usually associated with hardened feces) and helps you empty your bowels. It works by increasing bowel movement and provides relief from constipation. Constipation may be caused due to poor diet, not drinking enough water and not going to the toilet as soon as you feel you need to. Lack of exercise or movement (such as being ill in bed) and some medicines, including some painkillers and pregnancy can also cause constipation.

Cremalax Tablet should be taken in a dose as advised by your doctor and take it at a fixed time at night. Some lifestyle changes can help with constipation, for example eating more fiber in foods such as fruit, vegetables and cereals, drinking plenty of fluids, and taking regular exercise.

The possible side effects of taking this medicine are headache, nausea and vomiting. Before using this medicine inform your doctor if you have a blockage in your bowel, upset stomach or your bowel movements have been different for more than two weeks.

How Cremalax tablet works?

Cremalax tablet works by encouraging the muscles in your bowel to move waste products through your body. It works by increasing the movement of the intestines, thereby facilitating the passage of stool.

Directions for use:

Always take Cremalax tablet exactly as your physician has told you. The adult dose for constipation is 5-15mg as a single dose, at bedtime. For Children: 5-10 years take 2.5 to 5mg as a single dose, at bedtime, or as advised by the physician. And for children under 5 years: 2.5mg as a single dose, at bedtime or as advised by the physician.

How to manage side effects:

Nausea:

Take simple meals and do not eat rich or spicy food

Headaches:

Rest and drink plenty of fluids. Ask your doctor to recommend a painkiller

Pregnancy:

It should be used with caution in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before taking.

Breast Feeding:

This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.

Driving:

If you think, this medicine is affecting your driving, don’t stop taking your medication. Stop driving and talk to your doctor.

Kidney:

Cremalax tablet should be taken with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Consult your doctor for advice.

Liver:

Cremalax tablet should be taken with caution in patients with severe liver disease. Consult your doctor for advice.

Interactions:

Tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
