What is Cipromax 200mg/100 ml  Infusion?

  • CIPROMAX  Infusion contains Ciprofloxacin which belongs to a group of medicines called antibiotics

What CIPROMAX INFUSION is used for?

CIPROMAX INFUSION is used in adults to treat the following bacterial infections:

  • respiratory tract infections
  • long lasting or recurring ear or sinus infections
  • urinary tract infections
  • genital organ infections in women
  • gastro-intestinal tract infections and intra-abdominal infections
  • skin and soft tissue infections
  • bone and joint infections
  • anthrax inhalation exposure
  • low white blood cell counts (neutropenia) who have a fever that is suspected to be due to a bacterial infection

CIPROMAX INFUSION is used in children to treat the following bacterial infections:

  • lung and bronchial infections
  • suffering from cystic fibrosis
  • complicated urinary tract infections, including infections that have reached the kidneys (pyelonephritis)
  • anthrax inhalation exposure

Talk to your Doctor, if you:

  • are allergic or hypersensitive to Ciprofloxacin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have ever had kidney problems
  • suffer from epilepsy or other neurological conditions such as cerebral ischemia or stroke
  • have a history of tendon problems
  • are diabetic
  • have myasthenia gravis (a type of muscle weakness)
  • have heart failure
  • have family history of prolonged QT interval
  • have salt imbalance in the blood
  • have a very slow heart rhythm (called bradycardia)
  • have a history of heart attack (myocardial infarction)
  • have a deficiency in glucose-6- phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD)
  • have pain and swelling in the joints and tendinitis

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • vitamin K antagonists (e.g. warfarin, acenocoumarol, phenprocoumon or fluindione) or other oral anti-coagulants (used to thin the blood)
  • probenecid (used for gout)
  • methotrexate (used for certain types of cancer, psoriasis, rheumatoid arthritis)
  • theophylline (for breathing problems)
  • tizanidine (used for muscle spasticity in multiple sclerosis)
  • clozapine, olanzapine (used as an antipsychotic)
  • ropinirole (for Parkinson’s disease)
  • phenytoin (for epilepsy)
  • cyclosporin (for skin conditions, rheumatoid arthritis and in organ transplantation)
  • anti-arrhythmics (e.g. quinidine, hydroquinidine, disopyramide, amiodarone, sotalol, dofetilide, ibutilide)
  • pentoxifylline (used for circulatory disorders)
  • caffeine
  • duloxetine (used for depression, diabetic nerve damage or incontinence)
  • lidocaine (used for heart conditions or anaesthetic use)
  • sildenafil (used for erectile dysfunction)
  • agomelatine (used for anxiety disorders)
  • zolpidem (used to treat sleep problems)
  • CIPROMAX INFUSION must only be given by a doctor or nurse

Ciprofloxacin injection may cause side effects. Tell your doctor if any of these symptoms are severe or do not go away:

  • nausea.
  • vomiting.
  • stomach pain.
  • heartburn.
  • diarrhea.
  • unusual tiredness.
  • sleepiness.
  • irritation, pain, tenderness, redness, warmth, or swelling at the injection spot.

 

  • Keep this medicine out of reach of children
  • Store at a room temperature of 15-25°C
