What is Calvit tablet?

Calvit tablet id composrf of 1250 MG Calcium Carbonate from Oyster shell, an organic calcium source eq. to elemental calcium 500 mg + Vit. D3 BP 250 IU

What is Calvit tablet used for?

Calvit tablet Is used for :

  • Treatment of Calcium deficiency 
  • Hypocalcemia
  •  Osteomalacia
  •  Rickets  
  • Osteoporosis
  •  Hyperkalemia 

1 tablet 2-3 times daily with meals or as directed by the Physician

Common side effects of calvit tablet are :

Weakness, Headache, nausea, vomiting, dry mouth, constipation, muscle pain, bone pain and metallic taste

Calvit tablet may cause:

  • Loss of appetite 
  • Metallic taste
  •  Frequent urination
  •  Muscle Pain
  • Bone Pain

please consult your doctor if you are taking any of following medicine:

  • Calcium – containing preparation in high doses
  • Diuretics: Thiazide
  •  Mineral Oils (reduce intestinal absorption)
  • Digitalis (arrhythmia, hypercalcemia may potentiate Digitalis)
  • Ca-tetracycline complexes formation.

  • Hypercalcemia patients
  • Hypervitaminosis D
  •  Renal osteodystrophy with hyperphosphatemias
  •  Hypersensitivity effects of Vit. D
  •  Breast feeding women – can cause hypercalcemia in infants.
  • pregnant woman must consult doctor prior use
