What is BET-KAL Tablet?

  • BET-KAL contains calcium citrate and vitamin D3 which is vitamin and helps to the conditions caused by low calcium.

What BET-KAL Tablet is used for?

It is used:

  • to treat conditions caused by low calcium levels such as bone loss (osteoporosis)
  • weak bones (osteomalacia/rickets)
  • decreased activity of the parathyroid gland (hypoparathyroidism), and a certain muscle disease (latent tetany).
  • in certain patients to make sure they are getting enough calcium (including women who are pregnant, nursing, or postmenopausal, people taking certain medications such as phenytoin, phenobarbital, or prednisone).

Before taking this medication, tell your doctor or pharmacist:

  •  If you are allergic to it; or to other vitamin D products (such as calcitriol); or if you have any other allergies.
  • if you have: high calcium/vitamin D levels (hypercalcemia/hypervitaminosis D), difficulty absorbing nutrition from food (malabsorption syndrome).
  • your medical history, especially of: heart/blood vessel disease, kidney stones, kidney disease
  • certain immune system disorder (sarcoidosis)
  • liver disease
  • certain bowel diseases (Crohn's disease, Whipple's disease)
  • little or no stomach acid (achlorhydria)
  • low levels of bile
  • untreated phosphate imbalance.
  • It can be used in pregnant and breast feeding women under Doctor recommendation.
  • It can be used in children under doctor recommendation.
  • It is unlikely to effect on drivers and machine users. Consult your Doctor for further inconvenience.
  • digoxin
  • phosphate binders.
  • tetracycline antibiotics (for example, doxycycline, minocycline)
  • bisphosphonates (e.g., alendronate), estramustine, levothyroxine
  • quinolone antibiotics (e.g., ciprofloxacin, levofloxacin)
  • certain medications can decrease the absorption of vitamin D (bile acid sequestrants such as cholestyramine/colestipol, mineral oil, orlistat)
  • Always follow the instruction as directed by doctor or pharmacist.
  • Take with whole glass of water
  • Take this medication by mouth with or without food.
  • Coma
  • Confusion
  • Delirium
  • Headache
  • Lethargy
  • Loss of appetite
  • Milk-alkali syndrome (very high, chronic dosing)
  • Nausea/Vomiting
  • Low blood pressure (hypotension)
  • Headache
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Gas (flatulence)
  • Belching
  • Nausea
  • Vomiting
  • Low blood phosphates (hypophosphatemia)
  • Low blood magnesium (hypomagnesemia)
  • High blood calcium (hypercalcemia)
  • High Amount Of Calcium In The Blood
  • Kidney Stones
  • Decreased Appetite
  • keep this medicine out of reach of children.
  • Donot use this medicine after expiry
  • Store in original package to protect from light
  • keep at room temperature (15-25°C)
