What is ASTINE 10MG?

  • ASTINE 10MG contains Ebastine which belongs to a group of medicines called Antihistamine.

What ASTINE 10MG is used for?

 

  • ASTINE 10MG (Ebastine) is a second-generation H1 receptor antagonist that is indicated mainly for allergic rhinitis and chronic idiopathic urticaria.

Talk to your Doctor

  • This medicine is not recommended for use in patients with a known allergy to ebastine or any other inactive ingredients present along with it.

Pregnancy

  • This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine. Your doctor may prescribe an alternative medicine based on your clinical condition.

Breast-feeding

  • This medicine is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. All the risks and benefits should be discussed with the doctor before taking this medicine. Your doctor may prescribe an alternative medicine based on your clinical condition.

Drowsiness and Sleepine

  • This medicine usually does not cause symptoms such as dizziness, drowsiness, sleepiness, etc. However, the risk of these symptoms is increased if the patient is receiving other sedative medicines or if the patient consumes alcohol during treatment with this medicine. If you experience any of these symptoms, you are advised to avoid activities such as driving a vehicle or operating heavy machinery.
  •  It's Interaction with alcohol is unknown. It is advisable to consult your doctor before consumption.

Interaction with Medicine,

  • Ondansetron

  • Cetirizine

  • Erythromycin

  • Ketoconazole

  • Chlorpheniramine

  • Always take this tablets exactly as your doctor has told you

Missed Dose

  • Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next scheduled dose, then the missed dose can be skipped. Do not use extra medicine to make up for the missed dose.

Overdose

Seek emergency medical treatment or contact the doctor in case of an overdose.

  • Ebastine is a H₁ antihistamine with low potential for causing drowsiness. It does not penetrate the blood–brain barrier to a significant amount and thus combines an effective block of the H₁ receptor in peripheral tissue with a low incidence of central side effects, i.e. seldom causing sedation or drowsiness.
  • Keep this medicine out of reach of children
  • Do not take after the expiry date
  • Store in a cool, dry place
  • Store at room temperature 15ºC to 25ºC
