What is ARTACIL?

  • ARTACIL contains Atracurium besylate  which belongs to the neuromuscular-blocker family of medications and is of the non-depolarizing type. It works by blocking the action of acetylcholine on skeletal muscles.

What ARTACIL is used for?

  • It is indicated, as an adjunct to general anesthesia, to facilitate endotra-cheal intubation and to provide skeletal muscle relaxation during surgery or mechanical ventilation.

Talk to your doctor if you:

  • Are hypersensitivity to drug or components.
  • Have severe CVS disorder.
  • Renal or hepatic dysfunction
  • Severe electrolyte imbalances
  • Respiratory insufficiency or pulmonary disease; Asthma
  • cardiopulmonary bypass
  • Should not be used in pregnant women until it is clearly needed.
  • For breast feeding women it is unknown that this medication passes through the breast milk or nor. Consult your doctor before use.
  • For children your doctor will decide your dose according to your body weight and age.
  • You cannot drive or use machines.

Tell your doctor if you are using

  • Suxamethonium
  • Ketamine
  • Tamoxifen
  • Aminoglycosides (gentamycin, amikain, tobramycin)
  • Polypeptide antibiotics (actinomycin, polymixinB, bacitracin)
  • Succinulcholine
  • Other anaesthetics
  • Your doctor or nurses will give this to you. Do not self administer.
  • skin flushing or redness
  • injection site reactions
  • hives
  • itching
  • wheezing
  • shortness of breath
  • allergic reactions
  • inadequate musculoskeletal block
  • low blood pressure, and
  • fast or slow heart rate

  • Inflammation Of The Skin Due To An Allergy
  • Seizures
  • Visible Water Retention
  • Blood Circulation Failure Due To Serious Heart Condition
  • Trouble Breathing
