What AMIODAR 200MG is used for?
AMIODAR 200MG is used in the treatment of
- uneven heartbeats
- other types of fast or uneven heartbeats known as atrial flutter, atrial fibrillation
Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, If you,
- are allergic to AMIODAR 200MG, iodine, or any of the other ingredients in AMIODAR 200MG Tablets
- have certain heart conditions such as heart block or slow heart rate
- have thyroid problems
- have lung problems
- have any problems with your eyesight
- are about to have an operation
- If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant talk with your doctor
- You should not breastfeed while taking AMIODAR 200MG Tablets
Tell your doctor about all the medicines you take including prescription,nonprescription medicines, vitamins and herbal supplements.
Especially inform your doctor if you are taking
- antibiotic medicines used to treat infections
- depression medicines
- blood thinner medicines
- HIV or AIDS medicines
- loratadine a medicine for allergy symptoms
- seizure medicines
- diabetes medicines
- cyclosporine, an immunosuppressive medicine
- dextromethorphan, a cough medicine
- medicines used for your heart ailments
- diuretics
- high cholesterol or bile medicines
- narcotic pain medicines
Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you.
- Take AMIODAR 200MG Tablets with or without meals
- Swallow the tablets whole with little water
- Do not crush or chew your tablets
- AMIODAR 200MG Tablets can cause a photosensitive reaction. Wear sun-block cream or protective clothing when out in the sun
If you take more AMIODAR 200MG
- If you take too many AMIODAR 200MG Tablets, call your doctor or go to the nearest hospital right away
If you forget to take AMIODAR 200MG
- If you miss a dose, do not take a double dose to make up for the dose you missed. Continue with your next regularly scheduled dose
If you stop taking AMIODAR 200MG
- Do not stop taking AMIODAR 200MG unless told by your doctor
- vision problems that may lead to permanent blindness
- feeling of “pins and needles” or numbness in the hands, legs, or feet, muscle weakness, uncontrolled movements, poor coordination, and trouble walking
- thyroid problems marked by weakness, weight loss or weight gain, heat or cold intolerance, hair thinning, sweating, changes in your menses, swelling of your neck (goiter), nervousness, irritability, restlessness, decreased concentration, depression in the elderly, or tremor
- skin colour turns to a bluish-gray color
- nausea, vomiting, constipation, and loss of appetite
- muscle cramps, stiffness or spasm
- swelling of the testicles
- red, scaly patches of skin, loss of hair or loosening of nails
- you may bleed or bruise more easily than usual
- feeling unwell, confused or weak, nausea, loss of appetite, feeling irritable. this could be an illness called ‘syndrome of inappropriate anti-diuretic hormone secretion’
- Store at room temperature (15-25°C)
- Keep AMIODAR 200MG Tablets in a tightly closed container protected from sunlight
- Do not use this medicine after the expiry date
- Keep AMIODAR 200MG Tablets out of the reach of children
