What is ADRIAMYCIN 10mg RDU?

  • ADRIANYCIN 10mg RDU contains doxorubicin which belongs to the group of medicines called anti-cancer. They helps to treat various types of cancers.

What ADRIAMYCIN 10mg RDU is used for?

It is used for the treatment of:

  • Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL)
  • Acute myeloblastic leukemia (AML)
  • Bone sarcoma
  • Breast cancer
  • Endometrial cancer
  • Gastric cancer
  • Head and neck cancer
  • Hodgkin lymphoma
  • Non-Hodgkin lymphoma
  • Liver cancer
  • Kidney cancer
  • Multiple myeloma
  • Neuroblastoma
  • Ovarian cancer
  • Small Cell Lung cancer
  • Soft tissue sarcoma
  • Thyomas
  • Thyroid cancer
  • Transitional cell bladder cancer
  • Uterine sarcoma
  • Wilms’ tumor
  • Waldenström macroglobulinemia
  • Before starting Doxorubicin treatment, make sure you tell your doctor about any other medications you are taking (including over-the-counter, vitamins, or herbal remedies). Do not take aspirin or products containing aspirin unless your doctor permits this.
  • Do not receive any kind of vaccination without your doctor’s approval while taking Doxorubicin
  • People with congestive heart failure, those who have already had high doses of Doxorubicin or a similar drug, and those with permanent problems with blood counts (bone marrow suppression) cannot receive Doxorubicin.
  • Not recommended for women who are pregnant or wants to become pregnant.
  • Do not breast feed while taking Doxorubicin.

  • Adriamycin 10mg Injection may cause side effects which could affect your ability to drive. As there is a frequent occurrence of nausea and vomiting with Adriamycin 10mg Injection so driving should be discouraged.
  • Drug interactions may change how your medications work or increase your risk for serious side effects. This document does not contain all possible drug interactions. Keep a list of all the products you use (including prescription/nonprescription drugs and herbal products) and share it with your doctor and pharmacist. Do not start, stop, or change the dosage of any medicines without your doctor's approval.
  • Some products that may interact with this drug include: digoxin, progesterone, streptozocin, stavudine, trastuzumab, zidovudine.
  • Azole antifungals (such as ketoconazole)
  • Calcium channel blockers (e.g., verapamil, nifedipine)
  • Rifamycins (such as rifabutin)
  • St. John's wort, drugs used to treat seizures (such as carbamazepine, phenytoin, phenobarbital, primidone)
  • Your doctor or nurse will give you this medicine. Kindly do not self administer.
  • symptoms of heart failure (such as shortness of breath, swelling ankles/feet, unusual tiredness, unusual/sudden weight gain)
  • redness/flushing of face
  • eye redness/itching
  • cough/hoarseness
  • persistent diarrhea
  • joint pain
  • pain in the lower back/side/stomach/abdomen
  • painful/difficult urination
  • stopped/missed menstrual periods
  • black/tarry stools
  • bloody mucus or discharge in stools
  • fast/irregular heartbeat
  • dizziness
  • decreased urination.
  • Pain along the site where the medication was given
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Low blood counts 
  • Cough or hoarseness accompanied by fever or chills
  • darkening or redness of the skin (if you recently had radiation treatment)
  • fast or irregular heartbeat
  • fever or chills
  • joint pain
  • lower back or side pain accompanied by fever or chills
  • painful or difficult urination accompanied by fever or chills
  • red streaks along the injected vein
  • shortness of breath
  • stomach pain
  • swelling of the feet and lower legs
  • Black, tarry stools
  • blood in the urine
  • pinpoint red spots on the skin
  • unusual bleeding or bruising
