What is A-CLOX Dry Suspension ?

  • A-CLOX contains  Cloxacillin which belongs to a group of medicine called antibiotics.
  • This medication is a type of penicillin antibiotic. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.
  • This antibiotic treats only bacterial infections.

What A-CLOX Dry Suspension is used for ?

  • A-CLOX contains  Cloxacillin which is used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections
  • Cloxacillin is an antibiotic useful for the treatment of a number of bacterial infections. This includes impetigo, cellulitis, pneumonia, septic arthritis, and otitis externa.

Talk to your Doctor if you:

  • are allergic to any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have heart, liver or kidney problems

  • It is not recommended for children aged under 3 months

There may be an interaction between cloxacillin and any of the following:

  • aminoglycosides (e.g., gentamicin, tobramycin)
  • birth control pills.
  • methotrexate.
  • tetracyclines (e.g., minocycline, doxycycline)
  • typhoid vaccine.
  • warfarin.
  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you to
  • Take A-CLOX  after food
  • Shake the bottle before use
  • Use the measuring cup provided with the pack to measure the dose
  • The dose and the course of treatment depends on the severity and type of infection

If you take more

  • If you take more A-CLOX you are more likely to have fits (seizures)
  • Contact your doctor or your nearest hospital immediately

If you forget to take

  • Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose. Just take your next dose at the usual time

If you stop taking

  • It is important that you take the full course of A-CLOX
  • Do not stop unless your doctor advises you to stop
  • diarrhoea and nausea
  • skin rash, urticaria, and pruritus
  • Keep this medicine out of reach of children
  • Store at a room temperature of 15-25°C
